Felted Bag: Finished!

I put the finishing touches on my Felted Bag this weekend including adding a flap and felting.

I’m really happy with the way it turned out. I’m considering lining it but I’ll have to fix up my sewing machine first… and find a place for it… and learn to use it ;)

Vacation

I’m heading off tomorrow to Florida for a week to visit my Grandma.  I’m very much looking forward to getting out of this 30 degrees and icy weather for some nice 60+ degrees and sunny!  Last time I flew I discovered just how relaxing crocheting is during takeoff.  I’m not checking anything this time which means my traveling crochet projects must be kept to a minimum.  I think I might leave the felted bag at home since there’s not much left to do and take either my socks or my lacy scarf (which you can see in my project progress bar to the right- I’ve not yet blogged about it but I have been working on it off and on since November.)

I am planning to take my laptop so I may very well update from Florida but who knows.  I’m also looking forward to starting the February 2010 CAL when I get back and I’ve been putting some thought into what I might crochet in March.  I bought the pattern for the Crystalline Snood infinity scarf so that is certainly on the table.  I’ve also been thinking about making something with Jelly Yarns in the future so watch for that!

Felted Bag: Almost Finished

I crocheted the strap by starting at the base and working up one side, foundation sc-ing for the strap, then working down the opposite side.  I then worked sc’s back and forth, slip stitching into the base as I went.  I’m still not sure how I’m going to attach the back side…
