The Master Bedroom

DSCN1416We’ve never had a very cohesive decor theme in the bedroom. It’s just been whatever we found that worked for the time being. It also changes by season as we switch from our lightweight sateen chocolate bedding in the summer to the light green and cream flannel bedding in the winter. My mom just finished making us an amazing quilt that will help solidify our color palette in there. It’s mainly chocolate brown and shades of green with bits of orange, red, cream, pink and blue.

The room came to us with cream walls, hunter green curtains and crown molding, and medium-dark wood flooring and trim. I’d love to replace the hunter green with… well, anything else. I’m not a fan of that color but it actually blends with our decor decently for now. I’m not in a hurry to paint this room because the walls are actually in decent shape. I would, however, like to crochet the Flower Power Pillow from the Spring 2010 issue of Interweave Crochet. I think that with the right color choices it will pair beautifully with the quilt!
