According to my notes on Ravelry, I started this sweater on August 9th, 2009. I finished it this weekend, just 2 weeks shy of a year. It’s not that it took me that long to crochet, it’s just that I dragged my feet on sewing on the buttons for sooooo long. I finally decided to forgo the button idea, frogged the edging and added new edging that will work with a shawl pin or an inline link.
I know the pictures aren’t great. I need to set up my tripod and some lighting so that I can take photos of things on me (they look much better that way than laying flat) … but you get the idea. The yarn is N.Y. Yarns Cotton and is really light and soft (though splitty and not the best to work with.) The arms are the perfect length for me but if I were to make it again (or if I had more yarn) I’d make the torso a bit longer. The original pattern was a long jacket with short sleeves and a ribbed shawl collar – as you can see, I changed it quite a bit. Doris Chan’s patterns are so easy to modify and mix & match. The edging I ended up using was taken from her Outta Sight jacket (except I doubled it.)
Oh, and if you’ve been here prior to July 25th, 2010 you’ll notice that the site looks totally different. I’m still ironing out a few kinks but let me know what you think or if you find any bugs!
