Happy New Year everyone! We had a pretty quiet night last night which lead to minimal recovery today. I used the day off to inventory my stash and start a new project. I have had 6 skeins of N.Y. Yarns Mesa for nearly a year. I started a project with it and was unhappy with the pooling and the weight of the yarn for that particular project so I switched to a different yarn. Today I decided to use it:

I have had this afghan pattern in my project queue for a long time and the Mesa yarn inspired me to try it. I decided to try a scarf using this pattern (same width but fewer rows.) Since I’m using a self-striping yarn instead of regularly changing colors I got a different effect but I think I like it. Here’s what I’ve got so far:

Beyond today, I’m resolving to blog more actively this year including documentation of my 2010 CAL which I’ll be getting started on likely this weekend.
