I didn’t post about these right away because they were a surprise gift for my grandma but I can’t believe I forgot to post about them altogether. So here they are, six months later…
In January I visited my grandma in Florida and while I was there I finished my first pair of crocheted socks. She was so impressed with my handiwork that I started another pair for her when I got home. I had enough yarn leftover to make her a matching “Crochargosy” scarf too. The colorway I used has some of her favorite colors and they are both light enough to use most of the year, even in Florida.

This is a super easy circle scarf/cowl pattern made in a spiral so there is no joining or seaming. I really like the look of the reverse side of the half-double crochet stitch so I designed this pattern to showcase it but it is fully reversible and easily adjustable for length. The stitch pattern is simple enough that it works for men or women. To make a wider cowl simply chain more at the beginning. You can purchase the patternĀ here or find it on Ravelry.

Well, some of it is labeled… it’s not all a mystery :) My Step-Mom-in-Law sent this random fun assortment of yarn home with Nick for me. She’s a knitter and loves that I’m also a yarn craft enthusiast and I’m super excited to try out these interesting yarns. Thanks, Katie!
